DESCRIPTION | The Dumbell nebula was the first planetary nebula ever discovered. We happen to see this one approximately from its equatorial plane; from near one pole, it would probably have the shape of a ring, and perhaps look like we view the Ring Nebula M57. The image has been taken using a 130mm f5.7 refractor, an Atik 460 monochromatic cooled camera, and an Avalon mount. A total of 5 images of 300 each were taken using standard R, G, B filters. |
